A Day in the Studio with Our Co-Founder

a day in the pottery studio

As the co-founder of O CACTUU, I recently had the opportunity to blend my love for photography with my passion for home living and ceramics. I decided to embark on a unique project: a photo shoot entirely in black and white, using my film camera.

The choice to use an analog camera with black-and-white film was intentional. I wanted to capture the timeless essence of our ceramics. The texture, depth, and intricate details that analog photography brings out are unparalleled compared to digital. The black-and-white film imparted a classic, elegant feel to the images, perfectly aligning with the earthy aesthetic of our ceramic pieces.

My goal was to amplify the raw, industrial atmosphere of our factory and imbue the photos with a sense of timelessness.

The shoot took place in our studio, the very space where we craft each of our handmade ceramic pieces. The black-and-white aesthetic not only enhances the sharpness of the images but also beautifully showcases the unique beauty and distinctiveness of the O Cactuu brand.
